Situated on 6 acres of farmland with a small flock of pure bred Suffolk Sheep grazing in the paddocks, a meandering stream running through the property and professionally landscaped gardens with outdoor seating areas.You are assured of a warm welcome at our piece of paradise in the heart of the beautful Waikato. Romance, relaxation, recreation, comfort and tranquility all awaits you at Karamu Valley Lodge. We are not the traditional Bed & Breakfast nor an impersonal place to stay. The Lodge has three different accommodation themes all designed for comfort. Our gardens are a work in progress, developing nicely for you to enjoy. Sit and ponder beside the waterfall or just enjoy a glass of New Zealand wine on the deck gazing down the valley and surrounding bush clad hills, or just to watch our beautiful Suffolk sheep grazing in the fields below.You may want to cast your eyes on the bird life while our ginger cat Mong may or may not be sitting close by. Home made bread is always being made, free range hens deliver the eggs and plenty of herbs grow among our vegetables. Home cooked dinners (on request) are eaten in and around the main house with outdoor fires for those romantic evenings. A stand of the beautiful New Zealand Kahikatea and also other native trees all around keep us in touch with what is New Zealand . Bruce and Shona have travelled most of New Zealand and Bruce has travelled to some of the Islands and Australia. Shona lived in the UK for three years and has seen many parts of Europe. We both know the importance of having great accommodation and being great hosts so we are here for you with a wealth of knowledge regards to New Zealand. Shona is a Natural Health Practitioner and has her clinic here at Karamu Valley Lodge. For those who wish to use this service during their stay there are a number of therapies available.Self Contained Double - Romantic Getaway: This unique cabin retreat is ideal for an uninterrupted getaway for two nestled in idyllic surroundings. Wake up to birdsong in the mornings and bask in the sunset during the evenings.

Our cabin is set in a beautiful garden situation on a lifestyle block, handy to Owharoa Falls, the Karangahake gorge walkways and the historic mining area of Waikino and Waihi.9km to Waihi and 12km to Paeroa, with all the Karangahake walkways to explore on the way. The cabin sleeps 4. Bed configuration is one Double bed and if needed we have camp beds for extras, With coffee and tea making facilities. Own toilet/shower. BBQ Available on request. All linen and towels supplied. There are several swimming holes at the falls and in the river and Waihi Beach is just a 20 minute drive away.

Charming self contained converted Garage. Elevated views over beautiful Opito Bay and the Mercury Islands. Short stroll to safe sandy beach. Excellent swimming, diving, fishing, snorkeling and kayaking. Dolpins frequently visit our bay and it is not unusal to have the opportunity to swim with them right off the beach.The unit is all in the one room with a seperate shower, toilet and handbasin. The living area consists of a fully equiped kitchen, TV Table and chairs, 2 couches one queen size bed and a set of small bunks (suitable for children). An extra queen mattress and 2 single mattresses are available for additional guests.Optio bay is an isolated community 18 km north of Whitianga, the final 5km of road is gravel, steep and winding. There are no shops at Opito bay. Boats are launched from the beach by tractors. The cabin is ideal for laid back camping style holidays.
