Acacia Bay is approx 10 min away from the town center, but has its own dairy, bar and brasserie, cafe, swimming bays and boat ramps located close by.

You have arrived at The Retreat in Upper Pukawa Bay, a 2 minute drive down to the fabulous Pukawa beach on Lake Taupo, a 45 minute drive to either Taupo City or Mount Ruapehu if skiing or doing the Tongariro Crossing walk, takes your fancy.This modern bach is tucked away with several other homes on a private 6 hectare native bush block. The bush is full of the sounds and sights of the native birds that are in the area. The bach is open plan and very comfortable with modern furnishings and convenient heat-pump. There is a large deck to sit and relax with your wine complete with BBQ.There is also a large shared pool on the property if you don't feel like going down to the beach. This place is awesome!!! We found it hard to leave:) & will be back for sure! Great place to stay you will not be disappointed highly recommend had a wonderful time. would recommend to anyone wishing to make this as a base for fishing and doing the alpine cross. Lovely atmosphere. we all had a good time at the bach thanks. The house was suitable for the children and Adults. I wish we could of stayed longer. It was great to have two bathrooms and the views were to die for even though I live with a view that overlooks the Cookstraight. Loved it, lived it and intend to use it again.
