Hillside House is a comfortable 1930's house with many original features set on the side of a hill over looking the unique small country town of Otorohanga. We have 2 double bedroom with views over the town and hills. In the winter we can even see snow capped mountains. The rooms have a guest bathroom with a toilet, basin and bath. Otorohanga is famous for be its giant kiwis at each end of the town. Set in the beautiful King country it is a wonderful place to spend some time while travelling down the west side of the North Island or as a destination. We are 5 mins walk from the kiwihouse and 10 walk to town which has many places to eat and a good information centre. We are also only 17 kms from the famous Waitomo caves. For black water rafting to absailing or just relaxing in a boat watching the glow worms. An amazing experience not to be missed. We have a travel cot if needed for a baby. Lovely private two bedroom unit. Fully self contained. 6 minutes drive to local township, very touristy Lake Taupo. 2 mins from Lake front and boat ramp. Heaps of offstreet parking available, and garage available for safe and secure boat storage whilst staying. So much to do around the local sites but a few of mention include: bungy jumping, Huka falls, hot mud geyers, quad biking, walking, skiing only an hours drive and in the other direction very famous Rotorua only an hours drive. We are very relaxed and friendly hosts who have travelled and welcome fellow travellers to explore our area and enjoy our unit and the beauty of Lake Taupo.
